Housed in the 1891 Moorish Revival Tampa Bay Hotel, the Henry B. Plant Museum explores the opulence of life in the Gilded Age and the beginnings of the tourism industry that now thrives in Florida. Beautifully appointed rooms hearken back to the 19th century, incorporating antique European furnishings and art that was a part of the original hotel resort. The museum also has displays on various events of the 19th and early 20th centuries, including the impact of the Spanish-American War. It sits on the southern edge of the University of Tampa's campus, next to Plant Park, across the river from the Tampa Museum of Art.
