Launched in 1945, the SS American Victory is the central attraction of the SS American Victory Mariners Memorial & Museum Ship. During World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, the merchant vessel served as a cargo carrier for the military and it now serves as a memorial to those who served. The ship has both self-guided and docent-led tours that explore the ship itself, helping to illuminate the ship's history and the lives of sailors that worked on its decks. The ship and memorial are adjacent to The Florida Aquarium, north of Channelside Bay Plaza.
